The general research goals of the Tell Balabra Archaeological Project are threefold:

(1) To develop an archaeological chronology of the Qaramukh region with particular emphasis on the Bronze and early Iron Ages.

(2) To study the urban forms and evolution of Tell Balabra East and West.

(3) To investigate the agropastoral economy of the Neolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages in the Balabra region.
